Vedder, who’s in the midst of a solo tour in Australia, came out for the first two songs of the show. The Pearl Jam front man shared vocals on a cover of AC/DC’s “Highway To Hell” and Springsteen’s own “Darkness On The Edge Of Town.” Later in the evening Springsteen and the E Street Band offered tour debuts of “Jole Blon,” “I’m Goin’ Down,” “My Hometown” and “Factory.” Both “I’m Goin’ Down” and “My Hometown” were part of the group’s performance of 1984’s Born In The U.S.A in its entirety.
According to Backstreets.com, The Boss introduced the album performance by stating, “We didn’t want to do the same thing twice…We’ve done this in Europe and the States, but never here: we’re gonna do the Born in the U.S.A. album start to finish.” As with other shows on the tour, Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello guested with the E Street Band all night long.
