Spafford Shares ‘A Flight Of Fall’ Compilations

Spafford posted a pair of A Flight Of Fall live audio compilations on Soundcloud. The first collects six highlights from the band’s recently completed month-long fall tour, while the second contains five tracks from the fall featuring special guests. Both compilations can be streamed for free.

A Flight Of Fall begins with a lengthy “The Postman” from October 4 at The Basement East in Nashville and the debut of new original “Fünkenseven” that kicked off the next show at the same Nashville venue. Next up is the band’s entire first set from October 8 at The Rex in Pittsburgh which consisted of just two songs. “It’s A Bunch” spans 39 minutes worth of peaks and valleys before an exploratory 21+ minute “Leave The Light On.” The compilation continues with a well-jammed “My Road (My Road)” from October 12 at The Haunt in Ithaca and ends with the instant classic “Weasel” from the same night.

Up first on A Flight Of Fall ft. Friends is a cover of Men At Work’s “Down Under” featuring Jeremy Schon of Pigeons Playing Ping Pong from October 10 at Baltimore’s The 8×10. Then, Spafford picked two tracks from their hometown Halloween show in Phoenix featuring guitarist John Reuter: a take on the Grateful Dead’s “Estimated Prophet” and the original “Weasel.” The quartet ends the compilation with tracks featuring a pair of guest appearances from their visit to the Orpheum in Flagstaff on November 2. Spafford recruited guitarist Drew Hall to help out on The Allman Brothers Band’s “Whipping Post” and was joined by Stig saxophonist Ryan Stigmon for “All In.”
