‘Soulshine’ Benefit At MSG Nets $4.5 Million For Hurricane Relief

Dave Matthews Band, Warren Haynes Band, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats and Goose each played guest-filled sets at “Soulshine” on November 24.

An impressive array of artists performed at the sold-out “Soulshine” benefit concert at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday, November 24. The show headlined by Dave Matthews Band raised over $4.5 million for those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton in Western North Carolina and Florida.

Asheville-bred musician Warren Haynes co-hosted the event and performed a set with the Warren Haynes Band. In addition to DMB and WHB, other guest-filled sets were played at “Soulshine” by Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats and Goose. Trey Anastasio, Mavis Staples, Robert Randolph, Joe Russo, Trombone Shorty, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks and Ben Jaffe each made appearances at various points of the night.

“Soulshine” raised funds through ticket sales, merchandise, sponsorships and donations. The money will be distributed via the Soulshine Concert Fund to a variety of organizations on the ground in North Carolina and Florida including Arts AVL, Habitat Fall Hurricane Fund, Manna Foodbank, Beloved Asheville, Asheville Area Habitat For Humanity, World Central Kitchen, Always Asheville Fund, WNC Tip It Forward and Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay.
