After debuting last year as Elsewhere Festival, Somewhere Fest & Conference returns to downtown Wichita, Kansas on June 13 and 14, 2025. The celebration of music, community and social change presented by Midtopia and Movement Musick revealed its 2025 lineup headlined by deadmau5, Suki Waterhouse, BigXthaPlug and Flying Lotus.
The eclectic “genre-agnostic” roster of performers set to take the stage at Somewhere Fest & Conference 2025 also includes Kim Gordon, Aloe Blacc, Cassian, Tinlicker, Jerro, Die Spitz, Tommy Newport, Elise Trouw, La Luz, Chris Luno and many others.
“When we launched this festival, it was about creating a space for artists and music workers who weren’t finding the support they needed in traditional industry spaces,” noted Chase Koch, founder of Movement Musick. “With Somewhere Fest, we’re proving that Wichita isn’t ‘elsewhere’ when it comes to music and culture—it’s Somewhere. A place where artists and audiences can connect, collaborate, and create something truly meaningful.”
Somewhere Fest employs immersive music technology with AI-driven music experiences and cutting-edge production elements that give a glimpse into the future of live performances. In addition to the music, attendees can explore interactive art installations, including live murals, graffiti and hands-on workshops curated by Harvester Arts. Organizers also give festivalgoers the chance to interface with social initiatives focusing on pressing community issues.
“Somewhere Festival is about using music as a platform for creativity, exploration, and positive change,” added Jessie Hartke, CEO and director of Midtopia. “Last year proved that this vision resonates, and this year we’re going even bigger—offering more opportunities for connection, artistic discovery, and real impact in Wichita.”
Several community organizations will be on had to present immersive activations focused on addiction recovery and mental health, education, strong and safe communities, economic mobility and free speech advocacy. Several of the performing musicians will host conference workshops and discussions, as they make the most of their creative platforms. For instance, Aloe Blacc will present a fireside chat, where he will talk about artistry, activism and navigating the modern music industry.
Festivalgoers can partake in Somewhere Festival’s food and beverage experience, with options from dozens of diverse vendors each day. Activities on this end include the Blind Taste Challenge (sample mystery foods and drinks blindfolded and guess the ingredients for a chance to win exclusive festival prizes) and the Foodie Photo Op Challenge (a dedicated backdrop is provided for attendees to snap creative photos of their favorite festival bites, with prizes awarded for the best images).
