Neither clouds nor lightning or even a power failure could dampen the spirits of the crowd at the Boca Raton, Florida stop of Slightly Stoopid‘s School’s Out For Summer Tour this past weekend. A sold-out crowd of nearly 6,000 reggae-rock fans danced and vibed their way through the night despite inclement weather and eventually a power failure.
Fellow Southern California reggae acts Pepper and Stick Figure opened the show, getting the crowd nicely warmed up and mellowed out for the main attraction. Slightly Stoopid performed for nearly an hour, giving the crowd their signature blend of reggae, rock, funk and punk before the rain and lightning and subsequent power failure caused the set to end. While many left the venue, the band did return after a lengthy delay and treated those who stuck around to additional songs. In addition to a career-spanning mix of originals, Slightly Stoopid also worked in Tom Petty and Red Hot Chili Peppers covers for the Southern Florida faithful. Photographer Geoff Clowes was on hand in Boca Raton to capture images of Slightly Stoopid in action:
