SHAMATi To Celebrate New Album Release At Hanukah Dance Party

SHAMATi, an act that describes their music as “jewgrass,” are gearing up to release a new album entitled Embrace The Light. The Bay Area band will celebrate the new LP on the fifth night of Hanukah, as they will present Embrace The Light – SHAMATi 5th Night Hanukah Dance Party.

JCC East Bay Berkeley Branch will host the performance/party on Saturday, December 16. The JCC is located at 1414 Walnut Street in Berkeley. Free copies of Embrace The Light will be given to the first 54 ticket purchasers. Tickets can be obtained via Eventbrite.

SHAMATi plays a variety of genres as the “Jewish Soul” act of the Bay Area, performing bluegrass, Motown, classic rock, klezmer, cumbia, R&B and more. Members of the group have performed with Edward Sharpe, Melvin Seals & JGB, La Misa Negra, The Smokedaddies, New Monsoon and others.
