The Avett Brothers’ Scott Avett joined Clem Snide — the project of singer-songwriter Eef Barzelay — for an NPR Music Tiny Desk (Home) Concert. The duo performed songs from Barzelay’s 2020 album, Forever Just Beyond, and more.
Avett has been a longtime fan of Barzelay and produced the new Clem Snide album, the first in five years. The duo — Barzelay singing lead and strumming acoustic guitar with Avett adding backing vocals and various acoustic instruments — kick off the Tiny Desk (Home) Concert from Avett’s farm in North Carolina (where they recorded the album) with “The Stuff Of Us.” Barzelay and Avett then mine Clem Snide’s 2005 album End Of Love with “Jews For Jesus Blues.” The duo return to Forever Just Beyond with “Some Ghost” and the album’s lead single, “Roger Ebert,” to close out the session.
