Say Farewell To Legendary Albany Club Valentine’s

Albany, NY music fans will feel a big loss when iconic club Valentine’s closes on New Year’s Eve. Jam scene promoters Guthrie/Bell have been presenting shows at Valentine’s for over 20 years and that relationship will end next weekend when they offer up two final performances at the club.

On December 20 Free Beer & Chicken and Wreckloose will play Valentine’s, while Moonboot Lover, Dr. Jah and the Love Prophets and Subduing Mara are set to perform at the venue on December 21. How’s that for a few names from the jam scene’s past?

One of the acts that will always be connected to Valentine’s is moe. In the mid ’90s the band played a number of shows at the venue and even presented their famed Timmy rock opera in the room. Watch fan-shot video of that performance of Timmy:
