Sarah Jarosz & The Brother Brothers Cover John Prine For ‘eTown’

Sarah Jarosz and The Brother Brothers appeared on the latest episode of nationally syndicated radio program eTown. The artists teamed with hosts Nick and Helen Forster for a performance of the beloved John Prine/Iris DeMent duet, “In Spite of Ourselves,” to wrap the broadcast from Boulder, Colorado.
“In Spite of Ourselves” is the title track to John Prine’s 1999 album. The record sees Prine singing with Lucinda Williams, Trisha Yearwood, Emmylou Harris, Iris DeMent and more. The latter appears on “In Spite of Ourselves,” which is one of those John Prine songs where one just marvels in his genius.

The eTown performance of “In Spite of Ourselves” sees twins The Brother Brothers — David and Adam Moss — handling Prine’s part in harmony. Sarah Jarosz sings DeMent’s with everyone coming together on the chorus. Watch below:
