Dead Oceans will release Ryley Walker’s new solo album Deafman Glance on May 18. The guitarist shared the single “Spoil With The Rest” and announced a number of additional tour dates.
Walker and co-producer Leroy Bach recorded Deafman Glance in Chicago at USA Studios, Minbal (now JAMDEK) Studios and in Bach’s kitchen. The nine-song follow-up to 2016’s also Bach-produced Golden Sings That Have Been Sung features the former Wilco member on guitar and keyboards as well as Mikel Avery and Quin Kirchner on drums, Brian Sulpizio and Bill Mackay on electric guitars, Andrew Scott Young and Matt Lux on bass, Nate Lepine on flute and saxophone and Cooper Crain on synthesizers.
Following record release shows in Chicago May 18 and 19, Walker heads to Europe in July before returning to the U.S. to continue touring in September and October. A return to Europe is scheduled in November and the first part of December. A batch of newly confirmed U.S. and Canadian dates then round out that month.
