Rodrigo y Gabriela Detail New Album ‘OurHome’ + 2026 & 2027 Tour Dates

Rodrigo y Gabriela return with a new album, OurHome, on September 18 through ATO Records and shared the lead single “Monster.” The acclaimed guitar duo also announced a 2026 North American Tour and 2027 Europe trek.

OurHome is Rodrigo y Gabriela’s first studio album since 2023’s In Between Thoughts… A New World. The new LP sees guest turns from former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman, jazz pianist Hiromi, cellist Hiyori Okuda and guitarist Yukihiro Atsumi.

The duo from Mexico City cut the new record in Japan at NK Sound Tokyo with production from Dave Sardy (The Who, Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and mastering by Stephen Marcussen (Nirvana, R.E.M., The Rolling Stones).

“We’ve always felt drawn to Japan because of the art and aesthetics and attention to beauty,” Gabriela Quintero said. “There’s also something about being there that invites you to look inward, to reconnect with who you really are and what gives you meaning.”

Coming to an impasse while trying to write the material for OurHome at their Ixtapa studio in Mexico, Quintero and Rodrigo Sánchez experienced the passing of their beloved studio cat, Pelusa.

“Before her passing, we were searching for ideas in a way that felt very pressured and forced,” Quintero said. “Then the day after she died, Rod wrote a song for Pelusa and suddenly everything started to flow. It was like she was telling us, ‘Stop fucking around and just do what you do best’ – which meant playing from our hearts with no agenda.”

OurHome is previewed with the six-minute odyssey “Monster,” inspired by the psychological thriller Monster by legendary manga artist Naoki Urasawa. The acclaimed duo and famed Japanese creator shared a mutual admiration of each other’s work.

“Monster is such a deep, philosophical story – it’s about a psychopathic killer, but it’s so uplifting and leaves you with a real sense of hope,” Quintero added. “We’d written that track without knowing that Urasawa was a fan of ours, and now he’s making the video for us.”

Rodrigo y Gabriela kick off a North American Tour around OurHome on September 30 in Dallas. Among the stops are Mexico City, New York City, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Atlanta and Washington D.C.

Spring 2027 will see the duo across Europe including shows in Ireland, the UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Austria, Czech Republic, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Spain and Portugal.
