Rich Robinson Announces New Solo Album ‘Flux’

Guitarist Rich Robinson has revealed details of his upcoming new solo album Flux. The new album from the founding member of The Black Crowes will be issued by Eagle Rock Entertainment on June 24.

Robinson recruited a band composed of keyboardists Marco Benevento, Matt Slocum and Danny Mitchell, bassist Zak Gabbard, drummer Joe Magistro and vocalists John Hogg and Danielia Cotton, to record the LP’s 13 new tracks. Sessions were held at Applehead Studios in Saugerties, New York where Robinson recorded several of his past releases.

“I love being in the recording studio,” Robinson said. “It fuels the desire to create within me. I enjoy watching it unfold. Each development fires another idea and in the end, you have this organically created song that seemingly came out of nowhere. It brings me such joy and peace. It never ceases to amaze me.”

The album includes the lead single “Music That Will Lift Me,” featuring guest vocals from Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr. After playing guitar on tour with Bad Company, Robinson will head out for a run of shows in support of the new record later this summer. Watch a live performance of the new song here:
