Remembering Allen Woody: Performing Live With The Allman Brothers Band

Bassist Allen Woody tragically passed away on this date in 2000 at the age of just 44. For eight years Woody held down the low end for The Allman Brothers Band and along with his ABB band mate Warren Haynes co-founded Gov’t Mule. This edition of Sunday Cinema presents footage of Woody performing with The Allman Brothers Band between 1989 and 1997.

First up is a trio of clips from The Allman Brothers Band’s performance at Great Woods Amphitheater in Mansfield, Massachusetts on September 6, 1991. The lineup features The Allman Brothers Band co-founding members Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Jaimoe and Butch Trucks, as well as Marc Quinones, Haynes and Woody.
