Red Hot Chili Peppers Bust Out Yacht Rock Classic In Pittsburgh

In 2004 and 2005 the Red Hot Chili Peppers covered Looking Glass’s ’70s smash “Brandy (You’re A Fine Girl)” a number of times. The song had disappeared from RHCP setlists until last night, when Anthony Kiedis & Co. busted out “Brandy” in Pittsburgh.

Looking Glass scored a #1 hit with “Brandy (You’re A Fine Girl)” in 1972. The Red Hot Chili Peppers debuted a fairly straight-forward take on the song at the Rock Am Festival in 2004. Included among Chili Peppers’ performances of “Brandy” was a version at Hyde Park in 2004 that appears on the live album Live In Hyde Park. Last night the California rockers dusted off the cover as part of their main set at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. The group hadn’t performed “Brandy” since June 2, 2005 according to Setlist.fm.
