Randy Newman Appears On ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ & Releases Quarantine Anthem ‘Stay Away’

Randy Newman shared a quarantine-inspired new song, “Stay Away.” The legendary singer-songwriter talked about the new original composition on yesterday’s episode of CBS Sunday Morning.

Newman and his wife Gretchen Preece spoke via videoconference with CBS reporter John Blackstone. Newman discussed keeping busy while quarantined due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, including writing “Stay Away” as a sort of love song to Preece. Proceeds from “Stay Away” will benefit the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music in New Orleans.
