Rainy Eyes further detailed her new album with Bluegrass Situation in April:

“‘Lonesome Highway’ was written over the course of several years, and came about as an attempt to write a short movie in song form. It draws loosely on my personal experience of having to sever ties with toxic family members, and knowing that you can’t always help the people you love. Change has to come from within and sometimes you just have to take that lonesome highway and trust that if you take the leap of faith into the unknown, the universe will catch you.”

Rainy Eyes’ initially previewed Lonesome Highway with the title track and now shares “You Just Want What You Can’t Have.”

“As William Bell wrote with perfect eloquence and Otis Redding sang with deep conviction, ‘You don’t miss your water till your well runs dry,'” Rainy said of her latest single. “I fully embraced that sentiment when writing ‘You Just Want What You Can’t Have.’ The song is in that same spirit. It’s a truthful slap in the face for anyone who doesn’t appreciate what they have until it’s gone, and a reminder to not settle for less.”
