Pro-Shot Video: Aqueous Covers ‘Kid Charlemagne’ With Joel Cummins & Vinnie Amico

The members of Buffalo-based jam act Aqueous consider themselves fans of moe. and Umphrey’s McGee, so they were understandably excited to team with UM keyboardist Joel Cummins and moe. drummer Vinnie Amico for a collaboration at this past May’s Summer Camp Music Festival at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, Illinois. Aqueous has shared professionally-shot video of Vinnie and Joel’s guest spot.
The double sit-in action came as part of Aqueous’s first set at Summer Camp ’17. Cummins and Amico emerged to help Aqueous debut a rendition of “Kid Charlemagne” by Steely Dan. The set began earlier with “Skyway” which led into an unfinished “Origami” that gave way to “Second Sight.” After the Dan cover, Aqueous finished off the set with a “Triangle” > “Strange Times” sequence.

Aqueous superfan Myke Menio recently launched a podcast about the band called All In With Aqueous. Menio spoke with guitarist Mike Gantzler about a variety of topics including Vinnie and Joel’s sit-in. Head here to listen. On Friday, July 7, Aqueous opens for Umphrey’s McGee at Central Park SummerStage in New York City. Cummins and Jake Cinninger then will join Aqueous for a late night show at Highline Ballroom.
