Pro-Shot Full Show Video: Wilco Opens 2016 European Tour In Brussels

Last night Wilco held the first of two shows at Ancienne Belgique in Belgium, Brussels to begin their European Tour. Opening night saw the sextet pull from throughout their catalog, with plenty of attention paid to their just released album Schmilco.

Guitarists Jeff Tweedy and Nels Cline led the show off with a rendition of “Normal American Kids” before being joined by the other members of the group for “If I Ever Was A Child.” They then played “Cry All Day” making it three straight Schmilco tunes to start the show. The first of seven selections from Yankee Hotel Foxtrot came next as Tweedy took them through “I Am Trying To Break Your Heart.”

The rest of the main set was filled out by Schmilco tracks “Someone to Lose” “Locator” and “We Aren’t the World (Safety Girl)” with a pair from last year’s Star Wars “The Joke Explained” and “Random Name Generator” and classics such as “Box Full of Letters,” “Misunderstood” and “I’m Always in Love.”

Rocking favorites “Heavy Metal Drummer” and “I’m The Man Who Loves You” opened the first encore and were trailed by “Hummingbird” and “The Late Greats.” An exit and quick return to the stage for “Spiders (Kidsmoke)” finale ended opening night of the tour.
