Pro-Shot Full Show Video: the Disco Biscuits Begin New Year’s Run In Atlanta

By Andy Kahn Dec 30, 2016 10:34 am PST

Last night The Tabernacle in Atlanta hosted the first of three consecutive The Disco Biscuits concerts making up the band’s annual New Year’s Run. Thursday’s show offered plenty of Bisco favorites and a bust out rarity at the start of the second set.

The first set opened with a rendition “Above The Waves” that would be finished later in set two. A continuous transition to “Rainbow Song” came next, followed by a performance of “Morph Dusseldorf” featuring the classical The Nutcracker rarity “Dance Of The Sugarplum Fairies,” as well as “Minions” played within the set closer.

Shelved for exactly two years, “Uber Glue” was busted out to start the second half of the show. A cover of Frank Zappa’s “Pygmy Twylyte” opened a sequence that included “Orch Theme,” a take on “Spraypaint” with “Little Drummer Boy” elements and the aforementioned conclusion to “Above The Waves.” Set two was capped with a take on “Mr. Don” while “Rock Candy” was offered as the encore. A free webcast of Thursday’s show (which are also available tonight and for tomorrow’s New Year’s Eve concert at The Tab) can be replayed below:
