A new album is coming soon from the Pixies according to an announcement from the band today. The LP entitled Head Carrier includes the single “Um Chagga Lagga” which they have made available in advance of the record’s official release. Additionally, the band confirmed touring bassist Paz Lenchantin has permanently replaced founding member Kim Deal.
The follow-up to 2014’s Indie Cindy – which was their first LP released after reuniting following a mid-1990s breakup – Head Carrier is slated to be issued on September 30 through Pixiesmusic/PIAS. The album features 12 new songs and was recorded with producer Tom Dalgety at the RAK recording facilities in London, England. The group fronted by Black Francis has revealed a batch of European Tour dates in support of the new record with the promise of more shows to come.
