Pink Floyd's newly released “One Of These Days” clip offers fans a stunning preview of the fully restored Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII concert film. This footage showcases the band’s groundbreaking 1971 performance at the ancient Roman Amphitheatre — the first concert ever held at this historic site, performed without an audience.
The legendary Adrian Maben-directed film has undergone a complete frame-by-frame 4K restoration from the original 35mm footage, complemented by Steven Wilson’s enhanced audio mix in 5.1 and Dolby Atmos. The “One Of These Days” preview demonstrates the dramatic visual and sonic improvements audiences can expect when the restored film debuts in select cinemas and IMAX theaters worldwide starting April 24.
Following its theatrical run, Legacy Recordings will release a companion live album on May 2 — marking the first-ever vinyl and Dolby Atmos presentation of this historic performance. The new performance clip, featuring the iconic instrumental that opened their 1971 album Meddle, can be viewed below:

“Pink Floyd: Live At Pompeii stands as an extraordinary document capturing the band’s live performance before the release of The Dark Side Of The Moon,” noted drummer Nick Mason in a press statement. The film features pivotal tracks including “Careful With That Axe, Eugene,” “A Saucerful of Secrets” and “Echoes,” with captivating visuals of the ancient venue shot during daylight and nighttime hours. Additionally, the film contains exclusive footage of the band beginning work on The Dark Side of the Moon at Abbey Road Studios in London.
The restoration journey began with a remarkable discovery — the original 35mm negative was found in five incorrectly labeled containers within Pink Floyd’s own archives, revealing the actual film stock that documented this historic performance. Pink Floyd’s Director of Restoration, Lana Topham, guided a team dedicated to maintaining the film’s authenticity while elevating its visual quality through cutting-edge 4K scanning technology.
“I’ve been searching for the film rushes of Pink Floyd At Pompeii since 1994,” Topham shared. “Finding the original 1972 35mm cut negative was truly momentous. This newly restored version delivers the first complete 90-minute edit, merging the 60-minute performance with the supplementary Abbey Road Studios documentary portions filmed shortly afterward.”
Steven Wilson focused on enhancing the audio’s richness and definition while remaining faithful to the performance’s original sound. The companion album will be the first time Pink Floyd: Live At Pompeii appears as a complete live recording. Wilson’s 2025 remix will be available on CD, vinyl, Blu-Ray, DVD, Digital Audio and Dolby Atmos starting May 2.
“Pink Floyd has been my favorite band since childhood when my father influenced me by repeatedly playing The Dark Side of the Moon,” Wilson admitted. “They are my ‘Beatles,’ fundamentally shaping my musical identity. I first experienced Pompeii through a low-quality print at a local theater. It profoundly impressed me with its unbounded, exploratory rock music created by four musicians who epitomized intellectual cool. Remixing the soundtrack to accompany Lana Topham’s remarkable restoration was an honor—the film now looks as if it could have been shot yesterday.”
