Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will present a free two-set livestream concert originating from Brooklyn Bowl in New York City on the eve of this year’s Super Bowl. The quartet’s “Super Bowl PPPPre-Pary Halftime Hall Of Fame” performance airs on The Relix Channel on Twitch starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. Pt on Saturday, February 6.
The “Halftime Hall Of Fame” themed webcast will find Pigeons Playing Ping Pong incorporating songs played during iconic halftime performances of the past three decades. “New year, fresh theme, elevated high energy psychedelic funk,” said frontman Greg Ormont in a statement. “We’ve been practicing a ton and definitely have a few trick plays up our sleeve to make this Super Bowl stream extra special.”
While the broadcast is free, PPPP encourages fans to donate here with proceeds going towards the Rex Foundation and Conscious Alliance. The Rex Foundation was founded by the Grateful Dead to “proactively provide extensive community support to creative endeavors in the arts, sciences, and education.” Conscious Alliance is a non-profit which “connects a network of creatives to collect large-scale donations in order to combat hunger in historically underserved communities.”
Those contributing the 10 largest donations before 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, February 5 will gain access to a meet and greet with Pigeons Playing Ping Pong following the livestream concert.
