Pigeons Playing Ping Pong wrapped up their Time To Drive-In Tour in Philadelphia on Friday. The Baltimore-based band fit in an original debut at Citizens Bank Park.

PPPP kicked off the show with the relatively new song, “Distant Times,” followed by “Totally” from the band’s 2010 Funk EP. While Pigeons has been playing the song more regularly of late, it was something of a rarity after it’s debut at the beginning of the decade with only a handful of plays between 2011 and 2015, as per Phantasy Tour. The staple “Poseidon” came next which led into a cover of “Daddy Wasn’t There,” a song from the Austin Powers, before heading back into “Poseidon.” Pigeons then debuted the original, “In The Bubble,” ahead of “High As Five” and “Snake Eyes,” both appearing on their 2020 album Presto. The quartet then closed out the first frame with “Doc” from Presto’s predecessor, Pizzaz.

The second set got underway with “Time To Ride,” which encompassed “Kiwi,” another older song PPPP has put back into a heavier rotation of late. Newer tune “Lowdown” came next before Pink Floyd’s “Pigs (Three Different Ones)” kicked off a fully segued, classic-filled section that would bring the second set to a conclusion and included “The Hop,” “F.U.,” “Penguins,” “Funkijam,” and “Bad For You.” The band capped off their Time To Drive-In Tour with “Dawn A New Day” for the encore.
