Photos, Video & Setlist: The Dean Ween Group In Denver

The Dean Ween Group showed off the current lineup of guitarist Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo, bassist Dave Dreiwitz, guitarist Scott Rednor, keyboardist Harry Waters and drummer Claude Coleman, Jr. on a recent West Coast-focused tour that included two nights at The 1UP-Colfax in Denver. As previously reported Friday’s show in Denver featured a special encore of “L.M.L.Y.P.” played after most attendees had left the venue and some of gear had been taken down.

Dean Ween weighed in on the circumstances that led to the unusual encore as a comment on our article, “I’d like to weigh in, since it was my band and my call. the whole idea of an ‘encore’ is that the crowd enjoyed your set so much that hey cheer and don’t stop until you go give them more. This crowd was like crickets–they didn’t clap at all–and we were playing the next night. So we stood there at the stage door for 5 minutes and no one clapped. so we stopped. It felt more like 45 mins later and we still wanted to play, so we went back on, i thought the venue was empty at that point but people started appearing. And that’s it–we felt like playing more so we did.” Not only did Deaner and his mates return to the stage, but the lengthy “L.M.L.Y.P.” saw the guitarist switch instruments with Claude.
