Last night God Street Wine unveiled new original material for the first time this century. Both “What A Fine Fantasy” and “Buttons And Leslie” were debuted as part of the group’s two sets at Brooklyn Bowl. Former member Pete Levin sat in on keys for “Peanut Butter Jar” in the first set and both “Slinky” and a debut cover of David Bowie’s “Golden Years” in the second. GSW ended the night with three covers in a row, closing the second set with the fitting “Brooklyn (Owes The Charmer Under Me)” by Steely Dan and encoring with Stevie Wonder’s version of Beatles classic “We Can Work It Out” and the Liverpudlians’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”
