Phoebe Bridgers appeared on the latest installment of Live On KEXP At Home, a video series from the Seattle-based radio station. Bridgers recorded performances of songs from her recently released Punisher album, spoke with host Cheryl Waters and ended the session with a Sinéad O’Connor cover on Tuesday.
The session started with Bridgers talking to Waters about life during the pandemic and how she misses the parts of touring she used to hate. She noted the songs on Punisher were meant to play live. Phoebe was joined by her band for performances premiered as part of yesterday’s Live On KEXP At Home. Up first was “Chinese Satellite,” which was followed by “I See You.”

Cheryl and Phoebe discussed each song between performances, a trend that continued before Bridgers’ rendition of “Kyoto.” The singer-songwriter also told the story behind her collaboration with Courtney Barnett for the Newport Folk Festival feature film Our Voices Together. For the finale, Phoebe Bridgers performed a solo acoustic rendition of Sinéad O’Connor’s “Black Boys On Mopeds.” O’Connor originally released the song on her 1990 studio album, I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got.
