Phish Performs ‘Tweezer Reprise’ On New Year’s Eve At Madison Square Garden: Pro-Shot Video

By Scott Bernstein Jan 16, 2020 10:47 am PST

Phish closed out their recent New Year’s Eve concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City with “Tweezer Reprise.” The band shared pro-shot video of their “encore” featuring “clones” pulling off choreographed dance moves on the Phish YouTube channel.

The quartet’s December 31 performance saw the band take to the air just before midnight and play the rest of the show from platforms that moved up and down while the “clones” danced away below them. While guitarist Trey Anastasio‘s platform got stuck high above the stage, the New Jersey native decided the show must go on and played from the precarious position. Anastasio alerted the crowd just before “Tweezer Reprise” that they wouldn’t leave the stage for their normal encore break. Instead, they just lit into “Tweezer Reprise.” Members of the production team, aka the “Rescue Squad,” then helped get Trey down from his stuck platform.
