The String Cheese Incident Postpones Texas Concerts Due To Flooding

Heavy rains and storms have caused catastrophic flooding in central Texas over the past four days. The String Cheese Incident postponed their concerts originally scheduled for Friday, July 11 and Saturday, July 12 at Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels, Texas “out of respect for the circumstances.”

The death toll from the Texas floods rose to 90 today as per a USA Today report. Many people remain unaccounted for as the heavy rains have made it hard for first responders to search the hard-hit areas. More slow-moving storms are expected today.

“Our hearts are with the people of Texas during this unimaginable tragedy. Though we were all looking forward to gathering at Whitewater Amphitheater this weekend, out of respect for the circumstances, The String Cheese Incident will not be performing as scheduled on July 11th and 12th,” wrote the band in a statement on social media.

“We are working on rescheduling to a later date, and all previously purchased tickets will be honored at that time. Refunds are also available at your point of purchase,” the note continued.

“Stay tuned – we will be back for you, Texas. In the meantime, you can support those affected by visiting the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund,” added SCI.

The New Braunfels shows were supposed to start the July leg of Cheese’s summer tour. The trek will resume on July 18 and 19 with the sextet’s annual visit to Red Rocks Amphitheatre in their home state of Colorado.
