Bob Dylan brought “Million Miles” back to the stage for the first time in over 12 years on Sunday at ÖVB-Arena in Bremen, Germany. The Time Out Of Mind song returned with a new bluesy arrangement during the latest stop on Dylan’s Lights Of Autumn Tour.
According to Dylan’s official performance archive, he last played “Million Miles” on July 11, 2014 at Norway’s Stavernfestivalen. The song debuted live on January 14, 1998, following its release on 1997’s Time Out Of Mind.
Dylan played electric keyboard while longtime bassist Tony Garnier accompanied him on upright bass for the bust-out. Guitarists Joel Paterson and Mike Seal rounded out the ensemble with drummer Anton Fig. Despite its lengthy absence, “Million Miles” sounded settled into the band’s repertoire, with the musicians navigating the fresh arrangement as though they had been playing it for years.

The revival gave Sunday’s 17-song concert three selections from Time Out Of Mind, joining “Love Sick” and “Tryin’ To Get To Heaven.” “Million Miles” arrived late in the set between “Soon After Midnight” and “Under The Red Sky.” Dylan closed the evening with “I Shall Be Released.”
“Tangled Up In Blue” and “Girl From The North Country” also appeared in Bremen after returning earlier in the European run. Dylan revived “Tangled Up In Blue” for the first time since 2018 at the October 17 tour opener in Oslo, where he also dusted off “Crash On The Levee (Down In The Flood)” after nearly 21 years. Two nights later in Gothenburg, Sweden, “Girl From The North Country” returned for its first performance since 2019.
Dylan remained on electric keyboard throughout Sunday’s show, adding harmonica to “When I Paint My Masterpiece” and “I Shall Be Released.” Four songs from his 2020 album Rough And Rowdy Ways appeared across the evening: “Crossing The Rubicon,” “Black Rider,” “I’ve Made Up My Mind To Give Myself To You” and “Goodbye Jimmy Reed.”
