On June 26, 1995 Phish brought their Summer Tour to the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, aka SPAC, in Saratoga Springs, New York. The show was the band’s third at the venue and contains plenty of wild psychedelic jamming that was a hallmark of the tour. Phish has released an official recording of SPAC ’95 in multiple formats via LivePhish.com including a streaming version for LivePhish+ subscribers.

The source tapes for SPAC ’95 were multi-track recorders that yielded the A Live One master tapes which were then mixed and mastered by Jon Altschiller. Highlights of the first set include the band’s short-lived cover of “Don’t You Wanna Go,” a euphoric “Bathtub Gin” and a blistering “Possum” complete with “Heartbreaker” teases. Phish really stretched their legs during a second set which opened with a mind-blowing 40-minute “Down With Disease” > “Free” sequence. The foursome explores vast musical terrain over the course of the “Disease” > “Free.” Also of note is a standout “You Enjoy Myself” featuring “Immigrant Song” teases from guitarist Trey Anastasio. Archivist Kevin Shapiro describes SPAC ’95 perfectly by writing, “This was a thriller of a show – demented, psychedelic, Summer Space Camp Phish at its best. “
