Phish Releases Free ‘Live Bait Vol. 12’ Collection Of Live Tracks

On Wednesday, June 22 Phish kicks off Summer Tour 2016 with a performance at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. As has been tradition, the quartet has helped stoke fans’ excitement for the upcoming tour by unveiling another installment of Live Bait. Live Bait, Vol. 12 is a free compilation put together by archivist Kevin Shapiro featuring live tracks Phish played in the cities the foursome will visit this summer.

Among the highlights are a stellar “Mike’s Song” > “Simple” > “Mike’s Song” > “Tela” > “Weekapaug Groove” segment from the band’s November 4, 1994 show in Syracuse, a standout “Tweezer” from September 18, 1999 in Chula Vista, Calfiornia, an impressive “Ghost” from July 1, 2000 in Hartford as well as an epic 40+ minute “Piper” > “Gotta Jibboo” sequence played at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, New York on June 19, 2004. Other previously unreleased tracks include 17-minute versions of “Reba” from October 25, 1995 in St. Paul, Minnesota and “Split Open & Melt” from August 10, 1997 in Noblesville, Indiana.
