The Philly Music Fest showcases a diverse array of Philadelphia-based artists each fall with performances at six independent venues in the city across seven nights. The city-wide music festival highlighting the Philadelphia music scene returns for its eighth annual outing October 21 – 27 boasting a 2024 lineup that includes Amos Lee, Sheer Mag, Devon Gilfillian and 17 other acts.
The local husband and wife team of Greg and Jenn Seltzer founded the Philly Music Fest as a non-profit organization. All profits from the event that remain after musicians and venues get paid go towards music education programs for underpriviledged kids. The organization estimates the festival brings an annual economic impact of $500,000, which includes a yearly donation of $100,000 to music education.

“With geography as our genre, Philly Music Fest can focus on experimentation in curating a seven-night experience, blending Hip Hop with Ska, Indie Rock with Jazz and Americana with Pop,” co-founder Greg Seltzer told JamBase. “We’ve had amazing headliners the past few years – Mt. Joy, Japanese Breakfast, Kurt Vile, Mannequin Pussy – and this year we continue the trend with Amos Lee, Slaughter Beach, Dog and Sheer Mag, as well as a surprise headliner to be announced soon, but our specialty is highlighting the next wave of headliners, such as Anna Shoemaker, Catbite, Mondo Cozmo and Devon Gilfillian. All shows will sell out, so come down to Philly and check it out.”
PMF will also present Inside Hustle with WXPN at REC Philly on October 26. The event is the only Philly music industry and networking event. Inside Hustle takes place twice each year including on the Saturday afternoon of Philly Music Fest.
Tickets for each of PMF’s seven shows go on sale at 10 a.m. ET on Friday, May 24. Head to PhillyMusicFest.com to purchase.
