Phil Lesh & Friends Pay Tribute To Grateful Dead 1975 At Terrapin
By Scott Bernstein May 5, 2015 • 7:15 am PDT

On Monday night Phil was joined by guitarists Stu Allen and Grahame Lesh, drummers Cochrane MacMillan and John Molo, keyboardist Rob Barraco and vocalist Elliott Peck. The evening started with a conversation about 1975 led by Jay Blakesberg in which Phil gave a demonstration of his famed “Big Brown” bass. Lesh’s band was introduced by a gentleman imitating Bill Graham’s famed introduction of the Dead at the Great American Music Hall on August 13, 1975. From there, Phil and his ensemble barreled through the same setlist the Grateful Dead used on that fateful August night. The show included both Dead and Phil & Friends rarities “Stronger Than Dirt,” “Sage And Spirit” and “Blues For Allah.”
