By Andy Kahn Jun 8, 2015 • 4:13 pm PDT

Megafaun multi-instrumentalist Phil Cook has announced the release of his debut solo album, entitled Southland Mission, via Thirty Tigers and Middle West on September 11. The Eau Claire, Wisconsin native and Durham, North Carolina resident co-produced the LP with his brother and Megafaun band mate Brad Cook, while also working with engineer Jon Ashley at a studio in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Cook will tour in support of Southland Mission beginning with a three-night stand at Duke Gardens in Durham on June 22, 23 and 24. He will then head home to Eau Claire for the Eau Claires festival hosted by his former DeYarmond Edison bandmate and Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon on July 17-18. A few East Coast U.S. dates follow in September before Cook heads to Europe for an extensive run of shows with The Tallest Man on Earth throughout October.
