Phases Of The Moon | Panic, Mule, Tedeschi Trucks And More

Today, the first phase of the lineup for the inaugural Phases Of The Moon festival has been announced and contains a slew of JamBase favorites. In a lineup that harkens back to the early days of Bonnaroo, Widespread Panic is aboard for two nights and they will be joined by a who’s who of jam acts including Tedeschi Trucks Band, Gov’t Mule, Galactic, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Chris Robinson Brotherhood and Artist in Residence David Gans.

Phases Of The Moon will take place at the 3,000 acre Kennekuk County Park in central Illinois from September 11 -14. Discounted tickets go on sale February 10 at 10 a.m. CT via the event’s ticketing site.

You’ll notice “Lunar Landing Conspiracy” towards the top of the lineup. As of yet promoters have not announced which musicians will take part in that set, only sharing “Did it really happen? Will it ever happen again? All will be revealed as we approach Phases of the Moon, and it will surely eclipse your wildest expectations.” Consider us intrigued.

One of the things that will separate Phases Of The Moon from other fests is the site itself, which contains a number of turn of the century buildings, rolling prairie lands, a 140 acre lake and plenty of walking trails. Event organizers promise, “four days of 100% organic, guaranteed feel good music, performed by nationally renowned musicians on 4 unique outdoor stages.”

A statement issued by fest organizers explains the name, “We’ve always looked to the moon with a great fascination and wonder. Its phases represent a cycle of renewal and a guiding light through darkness. The moon exerts a powerful pull on both the ocean tides and on our human emotions. As we began to create our festival, we thought, what better way to express the uplifting power of music and its relationship with nature than by naming it Phases of the Moon!”
