Guitarist Pete Townshend will embark on a short run of Classic Quadrophenia performances this September to honor The Who’s landmark 1973 album, Quadrophenia. Each of the run’s four shows will feature Townshend performing songs from the album along with orchestral accompaniment and vocals from Billy Idol and Alfie Boe.

“I’m thrilled to be bringing Classic Quadrophenia Stateside through the month of September,” Townshend said in a statement. “Melding the contrasting sounds of Quadrophenia with a symphony has been a really unique and powerful way to reach a wide audience of classical and pop music lovers alike. I couldn’t be more excited to see it continue in the U.S.”

Townshend & Co. are currently slated to kick off the run at Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts on September 2. From there, Classic Quadrophenia comes to New York City for performances at the Metropolitan Opera House on September 9 and 10. As it stands, the short tour is set to conclude at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on September 16.
