Pearl Jam Details ‘Vs.’ 30th Anniversary Reissue

Pearl Jam will mark the 30th anniversary of their 1993 album, Vs., with a series of special releases. The digital version of the band’s sophomore album features three bonus tracks.

The follow-up to Pearl Jam’s breakout 1991 debut album, Ten, the 12-track Vs. was the band’s first of several records produced by Brendan O’Brien. Among the standout tracks on Vs. include “Daughter,” “Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town,” “Blood,” “Leash,” “Go” and “Indifference.”

Bonus digital-only tracks consist of an alternate “Indifference,” as well as “Cready Stomp” and a cover of Victoria Williams’ “Crazy Mary.” Both “Cready Stomp,” which has not been performed live and “Crazy Mary,” a live staple for many years, were part of the 20th anniversary reissue of Vs., with Williams contributing to the track.

“Music is an incredibly powerful medium to deliver a story by,” frontman Eddie Vedder told Cameron Crowe in a 1993 Rolling Stone interview. “But the best thing is, you have to have volume. You’re supposed to play it loud. I would do anything to be around music. You don’t even have to pay me.”

The 30th anniversary editions of Vs. will be released in a variety of vinyl formats and on cassette on November 17. An exclusive Ten Club member edition will be available as a 2LP dreamsicle color variant. Target will offer a single LP version in clear vinyl. A standard 2LP black vinyl version will be available at other stores.

Pearl Jam and Legacy Recordings will release Vs. with a new Atmos Spatial Audio Mix tomorrow, Friday, October 20 on Apple Music. Each track will also be issued with accompanying new visualizer videos. Watch the “Daughter” visualizer below:
