Seattle rockers Pearl Jam will be among the acts inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame at a ceremony on April 7. Members of the current lineup of the group will each be inducted including drummer Matt Cameron as will original drummer Dave Krusen. The Pearl Jam drum seat was also held by Matt Chamberlain, Dave Abbruzzese and Jack Irons and Abbruzzese took to Facebook to voice his displeasure at being excluded. Pearl Jam has issued an open letter praising the contributions of all four former drummers and inviting them to the ceremony.
“With the date of the Hall Of Fame event coming up it is just now sinking in what it means to us,” starts the letter from the Seattle band. “While awards and accolades are understandably subjective and a countless number of our peers have yet to be honored, we do feel fortunate to be recognized and provided the opportunity to reunite with everyone who has been part of the group.”
Then, Pearl Jam brought up the drummer situation, “Specifically the drummers who all left their distinctive mark on our band in the pre-Matt Cameron years. Dave Krusen, Matt Chamberlain, Dave Abbruzzese and Jack Irons are each individually great players who gave their all to the early recordings of live gigs.” The group hints at the foursome turning up at the Rock Hall induction, “Looking forward to seeing them and all the other musicians on the bill.” Pearl Jam also snuck in mention of members of Jane’s Addiction and Bad Brains who each were nominated but didn’t make the induction cut this year.
