On Tuesday night Pearl Jam South American Tour rolled into Brasilia, Brazil for a performance at Estadio Mane Garrincha. Eddie Vedder and Co. worked five covers into a 35-song performance that was heavy on tunes from the band’s first two studio albums.

Pearl Jam kicked off the show with “Release,” one of six songs from their debut LP Ten that would make the setlist on Tuesday. The performance was also heavy on songs from the Seattle rockers’ sophomore effort Vs. as six tunes were played from the LP including “Animal,” “Daughter” and “Indifference.” Vedder took a number of opportunities to address the crowd in Portuguese. He also mentioned the band and fans were battling a swarm of mosquitoes which had enveloped the venue.

Though Pearl Jam’s main set in Brasilia only featured one cover, there were four additional covers performed during the evening’s multiple encores. The band’s eighth- ever version of “Rain” by The Beatles came within the main set, while renditions of Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song,” Pink Floyd’s “Mother,” Victoria Williams’ “Crazy Mary” and “Baba O’Riley” by The Who fit into the 16-song encores.

One cover Pearl Jam didn’t play was Eagles Of Death Metal’s “I Want You So Hard,” which was on the band’s stage setlist was but was axed for “Why Go” and “Leash”:

Next up for Pearl Jam is a performance at Mineirão in Belo Horizonte, Brazil on Friday.
