Paul McCartney Welcomes 10-Year-Old Bassist For Tour Debut In Argentina
By Scott Bernstein May 18, 2016 • 10:22 am PDT
On Tuesday night legendary rocker Paul McCartney continued his One On One World Tour at Estadio Ciudad de La Plata in La Plata, Argentina. The evening’s encore saw Macca bring up a young concertgoer who asked Paul if she could perform with him to which McCartney and his band obliged.
The memorable moment came early in the seven-song encore, when Paul McCartney welcomed 10-year-old Leila from Buenos Aires to the stage. Leila asked if she could play bass with him and mispronounced bass. Macca seized on the mispronunciation and asked the youngster if she had a bass with her. While she didn’t, McCartney’s crew stepped up and provided Leila with a bass. Paul, his band and Leila then proceeded to play “Get Back” which was a tour debut. The 10-year-old musician held her own and also sang with the iconic performer.
