Oteil Burbridge Outlines 2024 Oteil & Friends Fall Tour Dates + Shares New ‘Love And War’ Single Featuring Lamar Williams Jr.

Oteil Burbridge announced a 12-date headlining fall tour for his Oteil & Friends project. The The Allman Brothers Band and Dead & Company bassist also unveiled a new single, “Love And War,” co-written by and featuring vocalist Lamar Williams Jr.

“Love And War” was recorded live at the inaugural Dead Ahead festival in Mexico this past January. The cut was performed by an Oteil & Friends lineup featuring Burbridge on bass, Williams Jr. on vocals, Melvin Seals on organ, Duane Betts on guitar, Jason Crosby on keyboards and violin, Tom Guarna on guitar, drummer John Morgan Kimock, Jennifer Hartswick on trumpet and vocals, Natalie Cressman on trombone and vocals and saxophonist Ryan Zoidis.

“I’ve been waiting about 10 years to do this one,” Burbridge told the crowd in Mexico ahead of the performance of the “lost” song from his catalog. “It’s taken me a while to get this song out there but it finally happened,” Oteil said in a press release heralding the release of the single. “I hope you enjoy ‘Love and War.’ Unfortunately, it seems both will be evergreen on this planet but we still strive for peace within and without. I do believe that one day we’ll collectively find and hold on to The Missing Peace.”

Oteil Burbridge will be joined by organist Melvin Seals, guitarists Steve Kimock and Tom Guarna, vocalist Lamar Williams Jr., drummer John Morgan Kimock and keyboardist/violinist Jason Crosby for the Oteil & Friends fall tour dates. The run begins in the Pacific Northwest with shows in Seattle on September 5 and Portland on September 6 as well as a previously announced benefit in Sisters, Oregon on September 7.

After a few days off, Oteil & Friends continue the tour in California with concerts in Del Mar on September 11, Los Angeles on September 12 and Berkeley on September 13 and 14. Burbridge then brings the band to the East Coast for shows in Charleston (South Carolina) on September 19 and 20 and an appearance at Maryland’s Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival on September 21. Also confirmed today were Oteil & Friends performances in Ardmore, Pennsylvania on October 17 and 18 and at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York on October 19.
