Oteil Burbridge Leaves Jaws On Floor With ‘Eyes Of The World’ Bass Solo In Hartford

Last night Dead & Company featuring Grateful Dead members Bill Kreutzmann, Bob Weir and Mickey Hart joined by Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti and John Mayer brought their current tour to The Xfinity Theater in Hartford. One of the highlights came in the second set when the six-piece extended “Eyes Of The World” out of “Estimated Prophet” to kick off the opening stanza. Burbridge stole the show with perhaps his best “Eyes” best solo yet.

“Eyes Of The World” has been the one place Dead & Company fans can count on for an Oteil solo, but last night’s was over the top and showed of Burbridge’s massive skill set. Watch fan-shot video of the entire 19-minute “Eyes” with the bass solo beginning just after the 13-minute mark and extending through the 17-minute mark (via Matt Frazier):

Dead & Company now head to Boulder for a pair of shows July 2 and 3.
