Opening Night | Phil Lesh & Friends Wade In The Water

Phil Lesh & Friends opened an eight night stand last night at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY. Those in attendance and those watching at home on couch tour were treated to an action packed performance for the opening night. The “Friends” joining the septuagenarian bassist for this set of shows include Joe Russo (drums), John Kadlecik (guitar), Jeff Chimenti (keyboards), Larry Campbell (guitar), Teresa Williams (vocals) and special guest Boyd Tinsley (fiddle). 
 
In the first set, the band performed the Robert Hunter penned, “Doin’ That Rag,” which happens to includes the lyric, But you can wade in the water/And never get wet/If you keep on doin’ that rag. In the second set, Tinsley guested on what appears to be the first Lesh performance of the popular spiritual, “Wade In The Water,” as well as a selection of Grateful Dead standards.
