A series of one-of-a-kind D’Angelico guitars will be available to bid on at select Participation Row auctions held at upcoming Dead & Company concerts. Each signed by the band, four of the five specially-crafted guitars were designed to coincide with venues Dead & Co. will be playing this summer where the instruments will be auctioned off in support of several charities.
Featuring Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart alongside Jeff Chimenti, Oteil Burbridge and John Mayer, Dead & Company’s Summer Tour includes two nights at Citi Field in New York City, a pair of shows at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado and two shows at Alpine Valley in Elkhorn, Wisconsin and at Boston’s Fenway Park. Each of those venues will have the site-specific D’Angelico guitar available for auction at the designated Participation Row area organized by nonprofit groups HeadCount and REVERB. A fifth hand-painted guitar, the “Dancing Bears” model commemorating the entire tour, will be auctioned at Participation Rows all summer, concluding at the finale at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California on July 30. Below view a gallery of the guitars, including shots of the band signing the axes:

Each city’s Participation Row will welcome various different nonprofit and charitable organizations selected by the band such as the Rainforest Action Network, NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) and many others. Any concertgoer who makes a stop and takes action at three of invited organizations’ booths will receive a free “VOTE” pin featuring the John Mayer-designed band logo and will be entered into a free raffle for a D’Angelico “lightning bolt” guitar signed all of Dead & Company.
