Nearly three years after Olivia Rodrigo released her blockbuster sophomore album, GUTS, the pop star finally confirmed her third LP. Geffen Records will issue Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love on June 12.
Olivia Rodrigo went the opposite direction by stylizing the lengthy title in all lowercase letters to break the one-word, four-letter, all-capitals cycle started with SOUR in 2021 and continued with GUTS. Dan Nigro returned to produce the forthcoming LP after serving in the same role for Rodrigo’s first two albums.
“I am so proud of this record and I can’t wait for you to hear it,” Rodrigo wrote as part of a social media post announcing you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.
Olivia Rodrigo discussed her third album, aka “OR3,” during a recent interview with British Vogue. Rodrigo shared three “sad love songs” from the album with journalist Amel Mukhtar. “I realised all my favourite romantic love songs were beautiful because they had a tinge of fear or yearning in them,” Rodrigo explained.
Stay tuned for advance previews of the album, its tracklist and additional information.
