Yonder Mountain String Band covered “Don’t Let Your Deal Go Down” for their latest quarantine video. The members of the band each recorded their parts separately to abide by shelter-in-place restrictions due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
“Don’t Let Your Deal Go Down” is a traditional song for which the first known recording dates back to 1925. YMSB joins Flatt & Scruggs, The Flying Burrito Brothers and Doc Watson & Dave Grisman on the long list of artists who have covered “Don’t Let Your Deal Go Down.” The band’s newest addition, Nick Piccininni handles lead vocals and plays mandolin in the video with Allie Kral on fiddle, Ben Kaufmann on bass, Dave Johnston on banjo and Adam Ajala on guitar.
