Yonder Mountain String Band recorded a cover of War’s “Low Rider” for their latest quarantine video. The five members of the group are joined by sound engineer Ben Hines on trombone and “Leatherface” banging a pan for “Low Rider.”

War originally released “Low Rider” on their 1975 album Why Can’t We Be Friends? Yonder Mountain String Band performed the song at the 2019 Strings & Sol destination event with trumpeter Jennifer Hartswick and trombonist Natalie Cressman. The group’s banjoist, Dave Johnston, handled lead vocals on “Low Rider” at Strings & Sol as he does in the band’s quarantine video.
