The Electric Zoo Music Festival will return to New York City’s Randall’s Island over Labor Day Weekend. Today, the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation issued the event’s organizers a permit allowing the festival’s return after the final day of last year’s event was canceled due to two tragic deaths and 31 people were arrested for various offenses.

Earlier this month Electric Zoo’s organizers released a statement which in part read, “The opportunity to again host Electric Zoo on Randall’s Island is a responsibility we take seriously, and we look forward to expanding our safety and security measures in order to further improve the concert experience for our fans.” Additional precautions set for the event include drug-sniffing dogs at all entrances, more plainclothes security officers and plenty of free water available for all attendees.

The lineup for this year’s event has yet to be announced. Pre-sale tickets are currently available via the festival’s website.
