North Mississippi All-Stars’ Cody Dickinson Covers Junior Kimbrough’s Hill Country Blues Classic ‘All Night Long’
The multi-instrumentalist recently signed to Petaluma Records.
North Mississippi Allstars’ Cody Dickinson shared a cover of Junior Kimbrough’s hill country blues classic, “All Night Long.” Petaluma Records released the track, marking Dickinson’s first release after signing to the label.
The Grammy Award-winning Take Me to the River: New Orleans compilation soundtrack was released by Petaluma Records. Dickinson was a co-producer on the documentary and album.
“I became friends with Cody through his work as co-producer on the Take Me to the River: New Orleans documentary and album,” said John Sopkia of Petaluma Records. “After our Grammy win, he shared his new solo recordings and we jumped at the opportunity to be his label partner on this new chapter of his incredible career.”
Dickinson is set to release a solo album through Petaluma Records in Spring 2024. His recording of “All Night Long” was written, performed, engineered and produced by Dickinson.
“’All Night Long’ is an anthem hit from Junior Kimbrough’s in Tchulahoma, Mississippi,” Dickinson said. “Junior and his sons David and Kent would close the show with this song every Sunday night, usually with R.L. Burnside and his family playing and watching. I was so blessed in this life to have witnessed this firsthand.”
Dickinson is currently on tour with The Allman Betts Family Revival. A tour with the North Mississippi Allstars begins in January 2024.
