Norah Jones Adds Cover Of Grateful Dead’s ‘Ripple’ To Live Repertoire

By Scott Bernstein Jun 7, 2017 9:02 am PDT

Singer-songwriter Norah Jones brought her Day Breaks World Tour to the Peabody Opera House in St. Louis last night. Jones began the evening’s encore with what according to Setlist.fm is just her second rendition of the Grateful Dead classic “Ripple.”

While “Ripple” is apparently new to Jones’ repertoire, she has been covering “It Must Have Been The Roses” since 2012 and performed that song with Bob Weir at the 2012 Outside Lands Music Festival. Norah and her band use a stripped-down setting for “Ripple” that found Jones playing guitar accompanied by piano, upright bass, guitar and a single snare drum. The multitalented performer had previously performed the Hunter/Garcia gem on Saturday night in Minneapolis.
